Facebook is probably and even more powerful way to generate traffic than email but email still works. And there is no reason that you cannot use both marketing methods at the same time and together.

I have developed an opt in email list of over 200,000 members. It has been a major top traffic generator for my business. If you have not started building an email list you need to start. Potential customers may need to see your message multiple times before purchasing. If you have no way to capture the email addresses of your clients and follow up with them you are throwing away money. You will need an autoresponder. 1. Give Something Away That Is Good Enough To Sell For Free As A Way To Bribe people To Join Your List. You can give away a downloadable book or free report on your niche that solves some problems for your customers. I created an ebook called 101+ Ways To Get Backlinks To Your Website” which I give away to everyone who joins my list.

You do not need to write a report as long as mine. Actually, you are probably better off with a simpler report. You could write something like “3 Secrets To ??” or 5 Ways To Make Better ??” Try to find a way to solve your customer’s problems.

You can write the report in a free word program such as Open Office Writer then save the file as a PDF. Upload the PDF to your web server and give the link to people who subscribe to your newsletter.

2. Turn Your Free Report Into A Viral Subscriber Machine. It is wonderful to give people a reason to join your opt in mailing list by giving away a valuable free ebook but it is even better having 1000s of fans promoting your report for you. You turn your report into a viral re-brandable report using Viral PDF Generator. This allows your fans to re-brand the report using their own links (you still keep a few links in the report too.) I am talking about subscribers who specifically subscribed requesting information about your offer, they just did so from somebody else’s website. Co registration leads are developed by putting your ad on other people’s websites. They then can either check a box or fill out a form specifically indicating that they are interested in your offer.l

Again, the most important point here is that the leads are opting in to your offer not just any offer. The boxes cannot be pre-checked. The subscriber has to take purposeful action saying they want to hear from YOU.

The timeliness of your follow up is also crucial. Ideally the leads should be funneled directly into your autoresponder where you can respond to them in real-time. If you wait to long to follow up the prospect could forget they ever were interested in the first place.
